Solutions to Common Problems in the Use of PET Release Films
PET release film often encounters the following common problems during die-cutting:
1. After the adhesive tape is attached to the release film, some of the adhesive tape will peel back and make a popping sound when peeling off.
2. Anti stripping, the material that should be stripped should not be stripped.
3. The adhesive tape and release film cannot be peeled off after being cut and placed for a period of time.
4. The surface of the release film is very oily, and it feels like the release layer is easily detached.
5. During the unwinding process, the release film generates static electricity and adsorbs dust.
To address the above issues, the following corresponding solutions have been compiled
1. The sound produced during peeling is due to excessive release force and uneven coating.
2. Anti stripping is mainly caused by an unsatisfactory combination of release forces. There are two reasons. Firstly, the factory inspection of PET release film is not strict, the inspection equipment is not complete, and the production process is unstable, resulting in a significant difference in release force for the same type of product. Therefore, the mold cutting factory used the release film that they believed was the release force. Secondly, the weathering resistance of the release layer is insufficient and has undergone significant changes over time.
3. After pasting the tape, it cannot be peeled off, usually due to uneven coating. Some release films may miss out severely, causing a certain area to have no release effect and preventing the tape from peeling off. The die-cutting of circular knives should be very taboo about this issue.
4. The oily release surface is mainly caused by the isolation agent system, rather than oily things. In fact, some oily release films have a more uniform surface coating and better residual adhesion rate. But some pure densities are not good, and silicone oil can easily fall off. These can be determined through testing.
5. Electrostatic problems are generally permanent, in addition to physical treatment methods. Generally, photoelectric grade mold cutting factories have dust-free workshops and anti-static equipment, so the problem is not significant. If the requirements are stricter, you can choose PET release film with anti-static coating.
