How Much Do You Know About Release Film?

Release film refers to a thin film with distinguishable surface, which does not have viscosity or slight viscosity when in contact with a specific material under limited conditions. Release film is a silicone release agent applied to the surface of environmentally friendly materials such as PET, PE, and OPP films, allowing it to exhibit extremely light and stable release force against various organic pressure sensitive adhesives. Different organic pressure sensitive adhesives, such as hot melt adhesives, acrylic adhesives, and pressure sensitive adhesives for rubber systems, require different release forces. Depending on the viscosity of the isolation product adhesive, the release force should be adjusted accordingly to achieve an extremely light and stable release force during peeling.

  Classification of release film

Different substrates can be divided into: PE, PET, OPP, composite release film (i.e. the substrate is composed of two or more materials), etc.

According to the release force, it can be divided into light release, medium release, and heavy release.

PET release films can be divided into various colors such as red, yellow, green, blue, etc.

According to surface treatment, it can be divided into single sided, double sided, silicon free, fluoroplastic, single sided corona, double sided corona, frosting, matte release film, etc.

Single sided release film:

  HDPE (low pressure polyethylene) film; Used for sealing LDPE (high pressure polyethylene) films such as waterproof rolls such as adhesive tapes; Mechanical product packaging, Hot-melt adhesive packaging, film wholesale health care products (diapers), anti-corrosion coiled materials and other BOPP (stretched polypropylene) films; Used for sealing PET (stretched polyester) films such as adhesive tape and silent tape; Double sided film for adhesive protection; Red/green polyolefin (PE).

Double sided release film:

Used for transparent PET double-sided release film with foam tape; Double-sided tape anti sun isolation film (HDPE silver coating film); Reinforced aluminum plated base material BOPP reinforced (BOPET) for waterproofing, sun protection, and cooling.

  Excellent performance

  1. High transparency (with a light transmittance of over 90%);

  2. Excellent heat resistance (melting point 230~240 ℃);

  3. Excellent electrical characteristics;

  4. Drug resistance;

  5. Low density (0.83g/cc);

  6. Good formability and processability;

  7. Excellent security.
