Why Are Most PCB Boards Green?

Generally, we choose green because it has little irritation to the eyes, and production and maintenance personnel are less likely to have eye fatigue and less eye damage when staring at PCB boards for a long time. Common colors include yellow, black, and red. Various colors are sprayed onto the surface after manufacturing.

Actually, enthusiasts who have been studying circuits may have the question, why are the vast majority of the circuit boards we use green? In fact, a PCB may not necessarily be green, it depends on the color that the designer wants to make it.

Generally, we choose green because it has little irritation to the eyes, and production and maintenance personnel are less likely to have eye fatigue and less eye damage when staring at PCB boards for a long time. Common colors include yellow, black, and red. Various colors are sprayed onto the surface after manufacturing.

Another reason is that the commonly used color is green, so the factory has the most spare green paint, so the cost of using oil is relatively low. Because when repairing PCB boards, different wiring is easier to distinguish from white, while black and white are relatively difficult to distinguish; Each factory uses two colors to distinguish between high-end and low-end series in order to differentiate their own product level. For example, Asus, a company that makes computer motherboards, has a yellow board for the low-end and a black board for the high-end. Yingtai's rebounds are high-end, while the green boards are low-end.

At present, only black PCBs have a higher cost than other colored PCBs, but this does not mean that black PCBs have better electrical performance. However, in production, black PCBs have the highest difficulty with holes, so the yield rate is relatively lower than other colored PCBs.

Based on the above reasons, I believe everyone has some understanding of this. In fact, the small details in learning are everywhere, and as long as you discover and explore, the joy can make your learning less monotonous and tedious.
