What Are the Selection Principles for PET Release Film?

The selection principle of PET release film: Different surfaces require different stickiness. Similarly similar protective film surfaces may require different materials to have different stickiness. The subsequent processing steps are the key to determining viscosity. The subsequent processing of protective film generally includes bending, stamping, cutting, drilling, Thermoforming, etc. Reasonable combination of PET release film thickness and viscosity; The tensile strength and elongation of the protective film are to ensure that the flexibility and strength of the protective film meet the requirements. In addition, it is necessary to conduct sufficient testing on the quality and performance of PET release film to ensure that it can meet the usage requirements.

PET release film is as easy to use as a tape. However, as the width and length of the protective film strip increase, the difficulty factor will also respond slightly. A larger challenge is to perfectly align the large PET release film with the target surface and then lay it down without creating unsightly wrinkles or bubbles on the surface, especially on irregular products that are difficult to handle.

In order to better apply the PET release film to the surface of the product and make it as perfect as possible, we need at least two people. One person holds a protective film reel, while the other person pulls the torn end to the other end of the product that needs to be protected, attaches that end to the target surface, and manually presses the protective film into place, facing the person holding the reel. Another method is to apply the material onto the thin film.

Prepare a suitable large and flat workspace that is larger than the object to be protected, clean, and free from dust, liquids, or pollutants. With the adhesive side facing up, unfold a small section of PET release film to ensure smoothness and wrinkle free, and evenly stick the loose end on one of the double-sided adhesive tapes.

Continue to unfold the protective film and place it along the length of the working surface not far from another double-sided tape. Roll up the film and put it over the double-sided tape. Be careful not to pull the originally connected end out of the tape, adjust the direction of the film, ensure that the film is straight, without wrinkles, and tighten reasonably, but not too tightly, so that the film will shrink later.

Lower the film onto the second double-sided tape. Using an art knife, cut the drum from the film that is currently waiting to receive the sheet to be protected. Place one edge of a piece of material on one end or one side of the protective film. Place it at the position where the film is held by the double-sided tape, and gradually place the parts on the adhesive film.

To ensure that the sheet adheres to the film, apply pressure to the material, especially along all edges, to ensure good adhesion. A clean paint drum may be used for this purpose. Use an art knife to track the contour of the protective film and remove any excess . Carefully flip the part and, if necessary, apply pressure directly to the film, working from the middle outwards to ensure good adhesion throughout the entire area. Check that the completed piece is intact and free from wrinkles.
