Classification and Application of Release Films - Part 2

Release film is a commonly used material for heat transfer printing. PET, also known as silicone oil film, is coated with silicone oil. Cold and hot tearing and matte surface, after anti-static and scratch resistant treatment, the product has good adsorption and adhesion. A good release film requires high-quality pet substrate with moderate softness and hardness, uniform and stable release force, high cleanliness, no appearance bubbles, and no setbacks and noise during peeling. What is the purpose of the release film? What types of release membranes are classified? Which industry is it mainly used in? At present, release films have been widely used in packaging, printing, screen printing, pad printing, engraved plates, thin film switches, flexible circuits, insulation products, circuit boards, lasers

Release film is a commonly used material for heat transfer printing. PET, also known as silicone oil film, is coated with silicone oil. Cold and hot tearing and matte surface, after anti-static and scratch resistant treatment, the product has good adsorption and adhesion. What is the purpose of the release film? What types of release membranes are classified? Which industry is it mainly used in?

At present, release film has been widely used in industries such as packaging, printing, screen printing, pad printing, nameplate, film switch, flexible circuit, insulation products, circuit board, laser anti-counterfeiting, bonding, electronics, sealing material film, reflective material, waterproof material, medicine (gypsum paper), sanitary paper, adhesive products, die cutting and stamping processing.

Classification and use of various release membranes

1、 The use and characteristics of anti-static release film

In the information age, electromagnetic waves can affect sensitive electronic components that are not shielded, causing varying degrees of interference on circuit boards and communication equipment, leading to data distortion and communication barriers. The static electricity caused by electromagnetic induction and friction can have destructive effects on various sensitive components, instruments, and some chemical products, such as packaging films, resulting in high-voltage discharge due to the accumulation of static electricity. Therefore, anti-static ionization films are also important.

2、Single side release film

HDPE (low pressure polyethylene) release film: used for sealing waterproof rolls such as adhesive tapes. LDPE (high pressure polyethylene) release film: mechanical product packaging, Hot-melt adhesive packaging, sanitary products, anti-corrosion coiled materials, etc. BOPP (stretched polypropylene) release film: used for sealing tapes, silent tapes, etc. PET (stretch polyester) release film: adhesive protection, etc.

3、Double side release film

Red/green polyolefin (PE) double-sided separation film: foam tape, transparent PET double-sided film: Double-sided tape, sun resistant isolation film (HDPE silver coating): waterproof coiled material, sun protection and cooling enhancement, aluminized base material, BOPP enhanced (BOPET): improve the adhesion of the aluminized layer, so that it can withstand 100 ℃ cooking. According to coating classification, it can be divided into ordinary silicone oil separation membranes and fluoroplastic separation membranes. High temperature separation membrane: take polyimide membrane as the base material, apply imported high temperature resistant silicone pressure sensitive adhesive, and then apply polyester separation membrane. Tape has excellent high-temperature resistance, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance; Moreover, it is non-toxic, odorless, harmless to the human body and environment, and has extremely low release force.
