Analysis of the Forming Method of TPX Release Film (2)
Basically, TPX release film is a material with good fluidity and can be formed using the same molding method and equipment as PE and PP. As it is a transparent material, if other materials are mixed in, it will significantly reduce transparency. When dyeing, dry mixing method can be used, but pigments must be selected that can withstand molding and processing temperatures.
Extrusion molding
The extruded products of TPX release film, such as film, coated paper, tube, round rod, etc., are applied in frozen food packaging, release paper, baking corrugated paper, release paper for epoxy resin hardening, and other aspects.
The fully threaded screw or three-stage screw used for PE or PP can be used for extrusion molding of TPX release film, but the following are the differences between TPX release film and other polyolefins.
Precautions:
The melting point of TPX release film is 240 ℃, which is the highest among polyolefins and has a relatively high specific heat. Therefore, a large amount of heat needs to be supplied during the plasticization stage. The melting points of PP, HDPE, and LDPE are 160 ℃, 130 ℃, and 105 ℃, respectively.
The melting viscosity of TPX release film is lower than that of PE or PP, and the temperature change is also significant.
The specific gravity is only 0.83, which is the smallest among thermoplastic materials.
Based on the above factors, when using a general extruder to extract TPX release film, the extrusion amount is less than that of PE and PP. If the screw speed is increased, it will cause a surge in extrusion ripple and make it difficult to stabilize production. In this case, using an appropriate temperature mode and preheating the raw materials to enhance the plasticization ability is the method to increase the extrusion amount.
After improving the extrusion conditions, the extrusion amount can reach up to 70-80% of PP. A newly developed extrusion screw can enable the high-speed and stable production of TPX release film. This type of screw can separate the solid from the molten body and plasticize it. The withdrawal amount can reach the same level as PE and PP.
Blow molding
TPX release film can also be formed using a general blow molding machine, but the following four points must be noted:
The melt viscosity is low, and the vertical flow of the mold is large.
The melt viscosity is greatly affected by temperature.
High melting point, easy to cure.
The Surface states has a great influence on transparency.
The above issues need to be improved through material selection, mold head temperature control, and the installation of material storage tanks in the molding machine to obtain good products.
