What Are the Detection Methods for Release Film?

Let's take a look at the difference between ordinary plastic film and release film. Cut a piece of tape, stick it to these films separately, and then peel it off. It feels easy to peel off, and during the peeling process, there is no sound, which is the release film coated with silicon, but it is difficult to peel off. During the peeling process, there is a chirping sound, which is the ordinary plastic film not coated with silicon. This method can also distinguish whether it is a single silicon release film coated on one side or a double silicon release film coated on both sides, and even compare which side is coated with silicon, the amount of silicon, and the size of the stripping rate. Using a water pen to test, once you scratch the surface of the release film, no ink can be drawn on the surface, while ordinary films will have ink marks of varying depths. The appearance of plastic release paper and coated paper of the same specification cannot be seen, but the above method can also distinguish the difference between them. The appearance of glossy ordinary paper and coated paper may also be very similar, but if they are torn open by hand, ordinary paper only has fiber hairs at the torn edge, and coated paper also has some small membranes in addition to wooden fibers. If using adhesive tape for testing, there will be a noise when uncovering the adhesive tape on the coated paper, but nothing will stick to the tape, while glossy regular paper will stick to the coating and wood fibers on the surface of the paper.

Due to the presence of paper fuzz and fibers on the surface of the paper, there is a risk of penetration when applying silicone oil. In order to ensure stable peeling force, plastic coating treatment (commonly known as film coating) is generally carried out before coating.

Special reminder: When selecting release paper, the die cutting manufacturer should remember to ask the supplier in advance whether the release paper is made of Kraft paper paper or straw pulp paper. Kraft paper is not easy to break edges and has less paper scraps during die cutting.
