What Affects the Viscosity of PET Release Film?
Whether it is colored or transparent PET release film, if the bonding between the product and the protected product is not firm, it will fall off during transportation and use. The most likely scenario is that the sensitive adhesive used in the release film product during production is not viscous enough. Another possibility is that the pressure of the molding machine used by the user during the bonding process is insufficient, or the surface of the profile is not clean, with dust or paint, which affects the bonding effect of the sensitive adhesive!
The viscosity unit of PET release film is g/25mm, which refers to the tensile force required to open a 25mm wide sample. Release films can be divided into micro viscosity release film, low viscosity release film, medium low viscosity release film, medium high viscosity release film, high viscosity release film, and ultra-high viscosity release film based on the strength of viscosity.
Many times, some suppliers say that 50g is also low viscosity, and 3-5 g is ultra-low viscosity. Actually, 50 is no longer low viscosity. Of course, this standard is relative. If the standard is 50 for low viscosity, then it is understandable. However, as a convention, it is considered that 10G or less is slightly sticky and has a weak viscosity. If placed on glass or a flat surface, the feeling will be different.
In fact, dividing by viscosity is a rough concept. 3-20g can be considered as slightly viscous, 30 as low viscous, 40 as medium low viscous, 50 and 60 as medium viscous, 70 as medium high viscous, and 80 or above as high viscous.
After using the PET release film for a period of time, it performs well in the middle, but the wings at both ends rise. The main reason for this phenomenon is that the release film has a high degree of stretching during the bonding process with the protected profile, or after applying the release film, unnecessary retraction occurs in high temperature environments. This problem often occurs in products from customers in the south, Therefore, during the production process of PET release film, attention should be paid to the impact of environmental temperature difference on product use, and unnecessary surface stretching should be avoided during the bonding process.
