Common Quality Problems of PET Release Film

Below, the editor of PET release film manufacturer Ruichangxing will briefly introduce the common problems with PET release films! Tearing too tightly: 1. The ink viscosity is too low and cannot be dried thoroughly. In the actual production process, printers often like to lower the viscosity of ink in order to improve efficiency and fluidity. Although the adaptability of printing has been improved and efficiency has been improved, side effects have also come with it. This will cause the solvent in the ink to penetrate into the release layer, while increasing the difficulty of volatilization, resulting in us ultimately sealing all the solvents in the inner layer, forming a mixed release layer and ink layer. After hot stamping,

Below is the common quality problems with PET release films by Reechas!

Tearing too tight:

1. The ink viscosity is too low, making it difficult to dry thoroughly. After hot stamping, when cold tearing, we peel off the bottom layer together, which shows that the tearing is very tight and the surface is rough, with a pungent odor and even residual color.

Solution: Increase the viscosity of the ink and strengthen baking protection; If conditions permit, one printing and one baking can be used to ensure layer by layer dryness.

2. The printing pattern area is too large, and the viscosity of the adhesive and the penetration of the adhesive solvent are strong, resulting in the formation of infiltration between the printing adhesive and the release layer. This leads to tight tearing of the cutting edge, as well as discoloration, wrinkling, and pungent odor.

Solution: Pay attention to adjusting the proportion of solvents (main solvent, secondary solvent, auxiliary solvent), and try to reduce the proportion of strong solvents as much as possible. Simultaneously adjust the viscosity of the adhesive, increase the solid content, and reduce the infiltration strength.

3. The release film itself peels too tightly.

Test method: Take a blank release film, use adhesive film or 3M tape, and after bonding, perform a tensile test to sense the touch. Factories with conditions can use a universal screw tensile tester for testing before printing to avoid unnecessary losses to you.

Reechas is a high-tech enterprise founded in 2006 and headquartered in Shenzhen, China. We focus on the development, production, and sales of integrated laminating products, including release films, conformal films, and press pads. These products are widely usedin PCB, FPC,  rigid-flex PCB, 5G PCB, IC substrate, CCL, smart card, copper coin & heat-sink and other industries.
